The Pan-European Business Co-operation Schemes have been initiated by the European Union and are supported by the Enlargement Directorate-General in collaboration with Enterprise Directorate-General.

Objectives:
The overall objective of the Pan-European Business Co-operation Schemes is to encourage an environment favourable to Business Co-operation and Inter-Enterprise Relations in a wider Europe

The Pan-European Business Co-operation Schemes support actions that will:

Exploit new business opportunities with enlargement
Develop business co-operation between SMEs from the Candidate Countries and the European Union
Prepare SMEs from the European Union for Enlargement, and SMEs from the Candidate Countries for the internal market.

Actions:
The actions are realized through the organization and implementation of Business Co-operation and Matchmaking events and accompanying activities for SMEs in a number of economic sectors.
Most of the Matchmaking Events are scheduled in accordance with the calendar of major international specialist or economic trade fairs. The Trade Fairs provide added value to SMEs and entrepreneurs by increasing the number of contacts, company meetings and business opportunities.

The selected projects:
Six projects, including ours, have been selected by the European Commission and are financed up to 75% by the Enlargement Directorate-General. The monitoring and follow-up of the projects are under the responsibility of the Enterprise Directorate-General. These projects take advantage of already established European Business Support Networks - the Euro Info Centre Network (EIC) and EURADA - as professional service providers and facilitators. They have attracted a broader European participation with Business Intermediaries and SMEs from the enlarged European Union, the EFTA / EEA countries, candidate countries and countries neighbouring the enlarged European Union. You will find more information about the other projects on the Commission's webpage dedicated to PES, or by directly consulting the relevant projects' websites:
