| CCIAT The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and Bucharest operates according to the Decree-Law 130/1990, resuming an over 130-year old tradition. This non-governmental, public-interest, non-profit making organization is meant to promote Romanian trade and industry both at home and abroad, and to defend the interests of Romanian traders in their relationship with the Romanian authorities and relations with specialized foreign organisations.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and Bucharest supports the businesses all along their lifetime and provides them information, guidance and assistance from how to set up a company to their further and sustainable growth.
In order to achieve its goals, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and Bucharest:
- supplies support and promotion for the benefit of businesses in the field of industry, agriculture, trade, tourism and services
- grants business consulting and assistance for company setting-up and operation
- promotes the business contacts through bilateral and multilateral business partnerships, organisation of fairs, exhibitions and commercial events at home and abroad, organisation of Romanian business missions abroad, organisation of foreign business missions to Romania, advertising and commercial promotion, charts of top companies
- has under its umbrella the International Commercial Arbitration Court
- supplies assistance and organizes round tables and seminars on high-standard distribution of products and services, quality management, standardisation, environment and consumer protection
- ensures basic information and co-operation in local development problems, representation and protection of the Romanian business community's interests in relation with policy-making bodies at local and national level
- ensures the feedback of businesses with regard to regulations in force and initiation of new legislative norms and regulations
- organizes meetings with Chamber members and other businesses located in Bucharest and in the country, focused debates on topical problems of general concern to the end of promoting economic development and upsurge in business and meetings with policy-makers and other decision-making bodies for the benefit of the business community
- is a direct member of the International Chamber of Commerce from Paris and an affiliated member of Eurochambres, as well as a founder member of ABC (Association of Balkan Chambers of Commerce) and of the Association of the Black Sea Chambers of Commerce and Industry
- co-operates with more than 200 similar organizations all over the world and concluded co-operation agreements with more than 80 of them
- disseminates among businesses in Bucharest and in the country information on local, national and international regulations of major importance to the Romanian business community
- manages the occupational training and further training of economic operators in Bucharest and in the country, as well as the post-graduate (high school and academic school) training an also short-term advanced courses in business organisation, management and programming
The Euro Info Centre (EIC) Bucharest is part of the European Euro Info Centre network with more than 300 Centres all over Europe and Mediterranean countries and it was established in 1995, having the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and Bucharest as its host-structure. Until now, seven other Euro Info Centres were set up, covering thus all the country.
The main tasks of EIC Bucharest are:
- providing European information on institutional, legal, market and other matters of interest to the enterprises
- assisting companies in searching partners and establishing long-lasting partnerships
- assisting companies in accessing the EU funds
- editing guides, leaflets and other documents on EU matters
- organizing conferences, seminars, training sessions on European matters of interest for the Romanian enterprises
